This is how the herbal extracts are extracted
Herbs can be used and used in different ways. Some use it fresh when cooking, the others dry it for tea or make the miracle products vinegar or oil. But how are herbal extracts made and which herbs help against which ailments?
Ingredients:
For the production you do not need any special equipment, only herbs, roots, leaves and flowers. It is best to collect these yourself, depending on which symptoms you want to use. Both fresh and dried plants can be used for the production. The only advantage: Fresh plants are more powerful and aromatic. Now you need a high percentage of alcohol, such as double grain or vodka. It should definitely be alcohol with an alcohol content of at least 40 to 45 vol.%.
Preparation:
- Put one third of the shredded leaves, flowers or root pieces in a tall container. Fill it with alcohol until the herbs used in the jar are covered. Close the glass and place it in a suitable place.
- Shake the tincture at least once a day.
- Between 5 days and 6 weeks your tincture is ready (with an exact indication, the experts are still arguing).
- Run the tincture through a filter, throw the herbs or similar. Remove and pour the tincture into small, dark bottles with pipette or dropper.
- The extracts are not only suitable for curing complaints, but also for the production of ointments and creams.
Among other things, you can use these herbs for your ailments
- Hops : stimulates the blood circulation and tightens the skin for a short moment.
- Sage : is particularly effective against bacteria, is therefore wound healing and deodorizing (odor eliminating). He has a slightly firming property.
- Marigold : also known as calendula, is found among others as an ingredient of sunscreen and after-sun creams. It has a healing, bactericidal, stimulating effect and is especially recommended for blemished skin.
- Nettle : used in folk medicine for rheumatic pain and eczema. It has antipruritic and blood circulation.
- Yarrow : is a popular medicinal plant. Due to its bacteriostatic function, it is wound healing. It is especially good for stressed skin.
- Witch hazel : also known as witch hazel, has anti-inflammatory, circulation-promoting, cooling, slightly firming and antipruritic properties. It also helps a lot with chapped, brittle and overly dry skin, as well as against sunburn.
- Watercress: should be used on greasy and blemished skin.
- Field pansy: are known for their anti-inflammatory and healing properties. They also help against itchy skin and acne .
- St. John's wort: is wound-healing, good against damaged, sore and impure skin, has a slightly firming and especially good against bacteria.
- Field horsetail: works particularly well against blemished, oily skin and has a slightly firming effect.
- Walnut leaves: have a firming effect and are insect-repellent.
- Coneflower: relieves insect bites and sunburns and has a wound healing effect.
